Progress Report: University of Illinois, Fall 2021 Semester

By Scott Darnell
I had mentioned last week that I would share some more good news this week, and it fell together today. I came up with a concept back in December of 2015 that I have been trying to bring to life ever since. Alexis Montanez my brother Roger Darnell cousin Joel Ridings have been integral parts from the start, and everyone else had to sit through my spiel. Along the path, the Moose crew came to life, including Cheryl Cavender Alan Ford Bev and Bob, my dad Jim Darnell and others got together to advance the project. More health woes brought me back to Greenville...through a good friend Jimmy Lefler I was introduced to Bobbi Gilmon, who brought into play the Purdue Foundry and other resources in Indiana. So I thought if things were available there, hopefully the same could be found closer to home. I can now report that the project was picked up and is once again moving forward with the help of the University of Illinois! They're senior engineering department put a team together this past semester to surpass certain initial hurdles, and I was told today that the project will continue in the Spring semester as they have secured its funding! This will hopefully have the basic unit ready for me to play with. So I am incredibly thankful and over-the-moon excited! Thanks to everyone from beginning to top, especially those who have continued to listen to my talk of Dreams/Concepts/Ideas for the 30 years I've been hurt, that might not make the most sense to those who are able-bodied. It is my hope that soon you will be able to take my ideas for a spin instead of just hearing about them 😉
